Vehicles listed ‘FOB’ are in stock, in Japan. They may be in our own holding yards, or available through one of our trusted wholesalers.

The FOB (free on board) value is the total cost of the vehicle itself, and all Japan-side costs.

Landed and complied estimates are calculated from the FOB value, using the exchange rate at the time the vehicle is listed. This estimate is inclusive of our fee, shipping, taxes and compliance.

Tyres and registration are not included in this figure. We don’t include these items as customers have different preferences with tyres, and registration costs vary from state to state. Removal of non-standard parts for compliance may also incur extra labour costs.

Customs authorities may select your car for additional inspection and quarantine cleaning once it reaches Australia. If selected, additional fees will be incurred and those costs will be passed on to you as the owner. We have no influence or control over which cars are selected, but we can take measures to reduce the likelihood of this occurring. Talk to us about your shipping options.

While Iron Chef Imports makes every effort to ensure that estimates are accurate, there will be times when sudden movements in the exchange rate will increase or decrease this final figure, and the more expensive the car, the bigger these changes will be.
