The Chef's Christmas message
My Christmas message probably doesn't carry quite the gravity of the Queen's message, but I can guarantee it'll be shorter and more interesting to read!
Well 2008 has been more up-and-down than most, with the Aussie dollar taking a walloping on the exchange markets in the second half of the year, pushing up prices. I'm no expert in these matters, but exporters in Japan are already putting pressure on their government to start taking measures to reduce the strength of the yen, so I suspect ('hope' is probably a more accurate term!) that things will start moving in our favour in the first few months of 2009. Even now, agents in Japan are gutting their prices to clear out stock ready for the new year break (believe it or not, Christmas Day is a working day in Japan!), so there are still bargains to be picked up at the moment, too.
Christmas break
There are no auctions on in Japan from Boxing Day right through till about the 6th of January, so I'll be in go-slow mode, mostly recovering from various Christmas and New Year's parties. I'll still be contactable via email and phone pretty much right through, so keep sending your inquiries and I'll get back to you in due course. If you came here looking for what's available on the site, I've got so much stuff listed on here that I'm starting to run into bandwidth problems with everyone checking out the cars - they all still exist, but I've removed them till the end of the month so I don't keep hitting my limit and having the site blocked all together. If there was a car you were interested in, just email me and I can send you the pics and details manually.
Thanks
Most importantly, a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me and my business throughout 2008, particularly my lovely wife and kids who have been along side me on the roller coaster ride. It has been great getting to know some new customers this year, as well as catching up with old customers who have now become repeat customers! Champions! If you've been thinking about importing in 2009, I'd love to hear from you, and have the opportunity to find you something special.
Have a great holiday break!
Cheers
Kristian
